Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Balham

Chez Bruce

2 Bellevue Rd, London SW17 7EG, UK – 020 8672 0114

Love this place! We’ve been several times for a treat or special occasion. It’s lovely to have a place like this locally so we can have great quality food without having to go into town. They do a very well priced lunch menu and the wine list has some very good, very affordable options. The service is really good and you get all of the nice little add ons like petite fours and an incredible shortbread at the end of the meal. We’ve always found the food faultless. It’s mainly fairly simple but very good quality. Highly recommended.

Tucked away off the beaten track in Wandsworth and old school in every way. Diners can enjoy classic French and English style food in the cool and calm white table cloth setting served by waiters and waitresses in shirts and black ties. Great dessert menu. Good for celebrations.

The Dairy

15 The Pavement, London SW4 0HY, UK – 020 7622 4165

Very good brunch. A bit cramped, but understand that they have a small space in a popular area. The smoked salmon and brown bread were excellent. Missing one star as price does not equate to portions which are on the small side. Coffee was also very good. Had a flat white and iced Americano.

Just such an amazing place to eat. Everything was so amazing. I can't wait to go back. Thank you to everyone I had the absolute best time.

Foxlow Balham

15-19 Bedford Hill, London SW12 9EX, UK – 020 7680 2700

The first thing that stood out was the service. The staff were very attentive and was constantly refilling our water. I would personally recommend the ribeye steak - very succulent and it came with fries. The chicken and waffles looked huge, but my sister and mother wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. Wine was also delicious. However, I wouldn’t come again simply because the menu didn’t wow me - it was kind of limited to be honest.

Food was pricey. Restaurant on a Wednesday night a bit loud. Cocktails excellent. Probably works better as a bar than a sophisticated culinary romantic restaurant.
