Local Bookshops

Waterstones

70 St John's Rd, London SW11 1PT, UK – 020 7978 5844

Went to a "meet the authors " event which was great fun. Two women have written very thoughtful but funny stories of totally different consequences of cardiovascular disease. Thanks to Waterstones for facilitating.

Great bookshop. Inspiring titles and very pleasant friendly and knowledgeable staff

Book Mongers

439 Coldharbour Ln, Brixton, London SW9 8LN, UK – 020 7738 4225

Fantastic book shop, huge variety of books in many many genres. The guy running the place clearly knows his stuff and was extremely helpful, even though I was throwing some very weird/niche topic areas. Would recommend just to walk around for half an hour! Real hidden gem!

Fantastic second-hand bookshop, something for everyone, different genres clearly marked. Very reasonable prices. Not to mention the friendly helpful staff/owner. Sadly one of the last bastions of the Brixton community that's been all but pushed out.

Clapham Books

26 The Pavement, London SW4 0JA, UK – 020 7627 2797

Cute, nice atmosphere. Small, but that doesn't matter much as I can spend hours here (and I have). I really enjoy the books available as it's a unique and eclectic collection. From Swedish interior design to world history to quirky colouring books, there's something for everyone, even the kids.

Lovely independent bookshop...great selection of books with good layout. Nice staff too. Also a small collection of nice art cards.
