Cinemas around Balham

Odeon Cinema Streatham

47-49 Streatham High Rd, London SW16 1PW, UK – 0333 014 4501

Friendly staff a big plus. Tends to have a good range of films at any one time. Seats comfortable enough and decent leg room (which is handy for me as I am six foot). Gets very busy on bank holidays especially if the weather isn't good. All in all a good local cinema.

I watched the Back Panther here the last time I was here. I bought my tickets through Taste Card for which we were placed in the 'VIP' area where you get a specific seat. People are dodgy, but I didn't have to fight with the boys who were sitting on my seats. Children were dancing in front of the screen by the end credits of the movie. The cheesy nachos are fabulous, the price-value is just perfect. I easily recommend the place for a good movie, but stick to the numbered seats of you can.

Ritzy Cinema and Cafe

Brixton Oval, Coldharbour Ln, London, Brixton SW2 1JG, UK – 0871 902 5747

One of my favourite cinemas in London. Two bar areas. Pretty small toilets though. On Monday one can grab tickets super cheep. Helpful staff many good places to eat or have a drink around. Easy to use, offers website ticket booking. This place just has its unique charm.

Lovely theatre, huge screen and amazing sound quality. Staff helped us save some money. You wouldn't get that a larger chain cinema. Will definitely be coming back

Cineworld London Wandsworth

Wandsworth High St, Wandsworth, London SW18 4TF, UK – 0330 333 4444

Nice modern cimema located in shopping mall. Comfortable seats and great sound system. Can also eat in the many restaurants before and after watching a movie. Bonus of free parking in multi level car park for cinema goers.

One of the best Cineworld Cinema's in London. Very nice facilities and they have 2D, 2D Super-screen, 3D and 4Dx screens so basically there is something for everyone. Plus the cool Unlimited Subscription is fantastic!

Theatres for Balham

Theatre503

Great little theatre. Perfect for seeing and experiencing close up theatre. New writers. Exciting stuff. Don't wear heavy clothing though cos it's small and hot inside.

Great place for having a night out nice service and various amenities as garden and downstairs main bar.

Tara Theatre

356 Garratt Ln, London SW18 4ES, UK – 020 8333 4457

Should have changing rooms for men and women bigger fridge microwaves from place very nice place to go to and very helpful need more air in the place where you act.

Great little theatre. Cute little bar.

Battersea Arts Centre

Lavender Hill, London SW11 5TN, UK – 020 7223 2223

My favourite place in the area. Work, chat, drink and eat, take pictures, whatever you want - this place is quite diverse and relaxed. It’s always welcoming and artsy. I absolutely adore the ambiance ! Another good thing is that there is always something new going on. In a word, LOVE.

A bohemian performance space. Welcoming, laid back, a little mysterious and magical. A trendy cafe, child friendly. Come and see both polished and rough drafts of shows called 'scratch shows'. The building is an example of architecture rescued from a fire with a magnificent staircase. Free talks with refreshments about the history of the building are held every month. It's got a wonderful website. Check this out for more details.
